Riverside Community Church was founded in May of 1975 by Reverend Darrell Cluck and his family. It was started in a small store front building on Montezuma Street. Rev. Cluck served faithfully for many years and saw many wonderful things happen in and to the church. After several years, the church was able to move to its current location at 101 Montezuma Street. After Rev. Cluck resigned and moved on to other areas of ministry, the church had several pastors over the upcoming years. There were many ups and downs as the church continued.

In 1997, Pastors Arlon & Annette Preston accepted the call to ministry in Rio Vista. They had been ministering in a successful church plant in Oakley, Ca. They had held several ministry positions in that church. At the time of the change Pastor Arlon was an associate pastor and Pastor Annette was the worship leader.

In 2000, the church changed its name from Riverside Community Church to Lighthouse Christian Ministries. Lighthouse is a non-profit LLC.
