In February of 2023 we started something new for our Sunday Morning services. We call it Table Church. We base it on Acts 2:42 “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [n]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” As well as 1 Cor 14:26 “How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for [h]edification.” We bill it as Faith- Food & Fellowship.

We have tables and chairs set up throughout the sanctuary. We serve food at every Table Church Service. What we’ve done is split up the preaching/ teaching responsibilities and moved it to the beginning of the service. After the word is presented, we invite the congregation to get food and go back to the table to talk about the word they just heard. After a period of time, the people at the tables pray for each other.

When the time is right, we offer people what we call the Opportunity Time. We give people the opportunity to come and share something they believe is from God. They can ask for a song to be sung, or they can sing a song. The goal is the glorification of God and the edification of the Church Body. The Senior Pastor will remain with them and help to guide the flow.

As of yet, we have not seen any salvations come as a result of this new format. However, we are seeing great engagement amongst the people. Service by the people has increased. Lives are changing. We have seen a new depth in the spiritual life of the congregation as well as an increase in attendance and finances. We will continue this format at least through the summer as we continue to seek God. Would you come join us and try something a little bit different?
